Class Introduction and Goals

The KSL class is a place where our students learn about the differences between the Eastern and Western worlds through studying Hangeul and the Korean cultural history, and moreover grow as mediators who can unite these worlds together through the love of God.

• Understand the concepts of Korean vowels and consonants, and practice using word combinations through reading and writing.

• Establishes a baseline foundation for continuing Korean education by practicing writing and using simple sentences.

• Emphasis on improving language skills by experience and studying Korean culture.

  • Main Text: Korean for Overseas Koreans(English) Textbook 1.1, 1.2 (Ministry of Education / National Institute for International Education)

  • Additional Material: Workbook 1.1, 1.2

Preparation

  • Information on items that students should prepare for each class throughout the year

    : Personal devices, writing instruments, textbooks, workbooks
    (Additional items may be added depending on the class weekly content)

  • Please note for class :

    • Please be on time for class.
    • Please indicate the student’s name in Korean.
    • Please make sure the student’s face is visible on the screen and turn on the microphone.
    • Please make sure to bring textbooks and necessary writing supplies for class.
    • Please encourage our students to do the weekly workbook homework little by little every day.
